Anna 3rd February 2015

Andy was a huge part of our family and meant so much to us all. Andy wasn’t just a brother in law, he was an uncle, God father and a close friend too and he will be greatly missed by us all. We all loved Andy very much and our family life just won’t be the same without him. Looking back through our photo albums we realised that many of the most significant events in our lives were spent with both Andy and Amy, most of which were the happiest and fun times of our lives so far. We shared our early years of parenting together, the joy, and the tears, babies bring, when Oliver and Joseph were born. We enjoyed watching the boys grow up together, taking it in turns to manage the mischief they get up to whenever we get together. We will miss bumping into him in Sainsbury’s, or being told by friends that they had bumped into Andy in Sainsbury’s, and we will miss hearing Andy describe, so enthusiastically what he was having for his tea every night, thank God he didn’t join Facebook! Andy took great pleasure in imparting his knowledge on how to make the perfect Yorkshire pudding – and Toad in the Hole, which was his go to meal whenever Amy was away. We will also miss our walks round the reservoir, fun times with the kids and seeing him with a glass of red wine on the sofa at family parties talking and laughing about all the cheesey music he liked to listen to, Westlife, Cascada the list of cheese goes on. We will miss hearing how the next day he was going to clear out the garage…again! Which was his go to excuse for getting out of something he was invited too, sorry if you are reading this and he used this excuse on you too! We will cherish these happy memories to keep him alive in our hearts, like our family holiday to Mallorca – which was eventful! Andy locked us all out of the villa one day and needless to say, his wife and mother in law were not impressed. Just as we broke into the back of our apartment, Tony (Amy’s Dad) managed to pick the lock on the front door just as the emergency lock smith pulled up on the drive, costing us one locksmith call out charge and a new window! The next day, Ross dropped a bottle of beer and Andy, being the selfless chap he was, tried to break the bottles fall with his bare foot, this resulted in Ross wheeling Andy down the streets of the quiet Mallorcan village in a shopping trolley with a bloody and bandaged foot, half drunk, to the emergency Dr’s clinic. Our recent holiday to France wasn't quite as dramatic, as we enjoyed many days indoors making up games and tidying up the kids loom bands due to the constant rain and thunder storms! We are so very very sad that he is gone, and we have lost our fun, thoughtful and bubbly friend but he is at peace now, and we will never ever forget him. We will treasure the memories and times we shared and will always laugh with Amy and the children about who he was and the fun we had together. We will look after them for him and his memory will live on. Anna & Ross xx
